The duo will move to Franklin’s Gardens from Otago this summer, joining the likes of Alex Corbisiero and George North in the Northampton squad for next season.

Utility back Dickson, 26, is a prolific goalkicker who captained Otago to the ITM Cup final in 2012, while lock Verbakel also played a key part in that run.

Dickson jetted over to Northampton earlier this week to complete a deal and he has signed a two-year contract at Franklin’s Gardens.

And Verbakel, 25, who had a brief spell at Glasgow Warriors during the 2011/12 season, will join him at Saints.
