Saints coach Dickens wary of threat from Ospreys half-backs Webb and Biggar

Scrum-half Webb and fly-half Biggar have been pulling the strings for the Welsh side, who have won all seven of their games this season.

The duo are staking their claim for Wales starts ahead of next month’s autumn internationals and have helped catapult Ospreys to the top of the PRO12.

And former scrum-half Dickens fully recognises the threat they pose to Saints’ chances of securing a win that would keep them in contention in Pool 5.

“Ospreys are a team we played twice last year and they’re a tough, tough team to play against,” said Dickens.

“They’ve got a lot of British Lions, Rhys Webb at nine and Dan Biggar at 10, who pulls the strings and put them in the right positions on the field.

“Those two players at nine and 10 in particular have been a driving force and done well during the start of the season.

“They’re a good team and they will be tough.”

Saints go into the game on the back of a 20-11 defeat at Racing Metro last weekend, leaving them without a point after the first round of matches.

But they will be confident on home turf, where they have claimed three impressive Aviva Premiership wins in as many matches this season.

“We pride ourselves on the performances we put in here at the Gardens,” said Dickens.

“Whether it is in the Premiership or in Europe, we know this week we need to win at home.”
