Pisi has been punished for a tip tackle on Ireland wing Tommy Bowe during Samoa’s 40-9 defeat in Dublin last Saturday.

The centre was sent to the sin bin and later cited, forcing him to attend a hearing in London on Tuesday.

The outcome of that has seen Pisi banned until December 23, with the 27-year-old pleading guilty and seeing an initial 10-week suspension reduced to six weeks.

The player has the right to appeal, but should he decide not to or should he be unsuccessful, he will miss six Saints games.

That schedule includes Aviva Premiership games against Newcastle, Worcester and London Wasps, an LV= Cup meeting with London Irish on Sunday and those European clashes with Leinster on December 7 and December 14.
