Burrell is one of four changes from the England team that lost 30-22 to New Zealand at Twickenham in November, with club-mate Lee Dickson one of the unlucky ones to miss out.

Dickson is replaced at scrum-half by Harlequins’ Danny Care, with the Saints man dropping to the bench.

Burrell will still have three Saints club-mates alongside him at the Stade de France though, as Dylan Hartley, Tom Wood and Courtney Lawes all start.

“We can’t wait for Saturday,” said England head coach Stuart Lancaster.

“We’ve had a good two weeks and all the players have pushed hard for selection.”
