And with Saints currently out of action due to the Covid-19 pandemic, supporters have been taking time to reflect on what their club means to them.

Many have opted against requesting refunds for season tickets and match tickets for games that have been postponed.

And here are some examples of why, sent to us on social networking site Twitter...

Rich Laurie (@RichLaurie2): I lost my 9 year old son in Feb 2014. He had a rare genetic condition. Without the Saints at the time, not sure how I would have got through it. I swear my son answered my prayers in heaven during that semi and final. I owe the club and players so much

Jane Bull (@niceaspie40): I won’t be asking for a refund or anything off for next season. The Saints have helped me so much with my crowd anxiety. Being able to go there meet new friends have helped me through some dark times. They are my team my club and my family.

Maria y Doust (@mar1ayd): I pay for my ST upfront - I won’t be asking for any kind of refund .. I’ll also be renewing for next season - I’ve made so many good friends and the club is like one massive family - it’s worth every penny

Dominic Newbould (@DominicNewbould): I’ve given up my ST, sadly (working overseas), after decades on the halfway line. But nothing would rip me away from a club that has indulged my passion for sport. When I get back from Vietnam, I shall renew my commitment like a shot.

@slougold: Wishing you all well at Saints, you are part of ours and many, many others lives! You can keep the season ticket money. Cannot wait until our boys run out at FG again one day. Until then, stay safe x

Charlie Winton (@CharlieWinton1): Northampton Saints are part of us, if we can help now we will, have the club signified if non season ticket holders (I live in Edinburgh) can pay (£20 or so) per remaining game to help? If so I’m sure we will. It’s a family

@DiSaint14: Saints take me through a roller coaster of emotions each season. We have followed them all over the country seen some great games some not so great. Would I want a refund this season, no, because I want to continue to support them in the coming years. COYS
