SAINTS have announced their scheduled away game against Saracens will be played at stadium:mk - Northampton’s home ground for selected Heineken Cup matches!
Jim Mallinder’s men will hope for big support after the clash, which falls in Aviva Premiership round 12 on Sunday, December 30, was switched.
Sarries, without a regular abode, until their new stadium in Barnet is completed early next year have taken the decision to move the clash to Milton Keynes.
And Saints could cash in as they are likely to keep a larger than normal share of the revenue from the game.
A Saracens spokesman said: “We will work in conjunction with our good friends at Northampton to stage a unique and spectacular event at this outstanding venue, within easy reach of our season-ticket holders in Hertfordshire and beyond.
“Matches played around Christmas always attract excellent crowds, and we anticipate a very strong attendance for this special clash.”
Saints have good memories of stadium:mk as they beat both Ulster and Perpignan there on their way to the 2011 Heineken Cup final.
But their last visit, in January this year, ended in a big defeat to Irish giants Munster in the pool stages of Europe’s premier competition.
