Saints are set to have Dan Biggar available for Saturday's trip to Gloucester.

But Tom Wood will miss out as he serves the second game of a three-week suspension and Courtney Lawes will be with England.

Saints have an injury doubt over Teimana Harrison, but there is good news on Ollie Sleightholme, who is edging towards a return to action.

George Furbank and Alex Mitchell will be available despite being named in England's Six Nations 'shadow squad'.

As for Biggar, he is allowed to play for Saints on any weekend when Wales don't have a match.

That means he could also feature against Exeter and Harlequins during the Six Nations, fitness permitting.

Saints boss Chris Boyd said: "Dan, under regulation nine, is available to play for us against Gloucester at the weekend.

"He is currently in the Wales camp and will come back to us on Thursday.

"Our games against Exeter and Harlequins are fallow weeks for the Six Nations so he'll be available for those games also."

But Lawes will link up with England this week and will not be able to return to Saints during the duration of the international tournament.

Furbank and Mitchell will both be able to play for Saints during the Six Nations.

On Sleightholme, Boyd said: "He had a pretty nasty hamstring tear and he's getting pretty close to being available."

On Wood's absence, Boyd said: "Tom Wood had a three-week suspension from the game against Leinster and even though we've missed four games, that ban is still sitting there.

"His three-week ban is going to end up being an eight-week ban.

"Despite the fact those games were scheduled and points were given out, they weren't considered to be fixtures, which is interesting.

"It's not consistent and it's one of those things that just needs to be tidied up."
