Saints hooker Hartley in the mix for Glasgow clash

Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder says Dylan Hartley is in contention to face Glasgow Warriors at Franklin's Gardens on Sunday evening.

Hartley was due to be on the bench for last weekend’s game at Leicester Tigers, but was forced to withdraw with a rib injury.

Mike Haywood again started at hooker, and impressed, with Matti Williams coming on to replace him late on.

But Hartley has returned to training this week and is set to be available for the crucial Champions Cup clash.

“Dylan has been training this week so he’s in consideration for the weekend,” Mallinder confirmed.

“We’re beginning to get some players back, which is always positive.”

Calum Clark (shoulder) and Kieran Brookes (knee) are set to remain sidelined, but Mallinder says they are making good progress.

“They’re both improving,” he said.

“They’ve had their operations on shoulder and knee respectively, but they are both making good progress.”

Centre George Pisi is set to return to the squad after missing last weekend’s game due to family commitments, which saw him return late from New Zealand.
