Saints duo Alex Day and Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi helped England Under 20s record an historic win over New Zealand in the semi-finals of the IRB Junior World Championships.
Scrum-half Day and prop Hobbs-Awoyemi were both in the starting 15 for Tuesday night’s superb 33-21 success in France.
The pair will now hope to keep their places for the final showdown with Wales, who beat South Africa in their semi-final, in Vannes on Sunday (kick-off 5.45pm).
Tries from Matt Hankin, Anthony Watson and Tom Smallbone, plus 18 points from the boot of fly-half Henry Slade, secured the win against New Zealand.
And Saints youngster Day tweeted after the game: “What an amazing win! Credit to NZ they are a quality side. Thankyou so much for the support! #onemoregame.”
