Premiership Rugby announces latest Covid-19 results as Saints prepare to host Exeter

Premiership Rugby announced the latest results from their screening programme on Friday afternoon and, although there was one new positive test across the league, it did not come from Saints.

Last week, for the first time since the screening programme started back in July, the entirety of the Premiership was free from Covid-19 with no positive tests.

But there was one this week, with an unnamed player from an unnamed club now being forced to self-isolate.

However, Saints are able to get set for their game against table-topping Exeter with a full squad, aside from their current injury victims.

This week's round of Premiership Rugby Covid-19 tests was the largest on record, with 1,077 people from across the league involved.

The results so far...

Week One (July 6) - 804 players and club staff were tested. Of these, 10 people tested positive. Of those 10, six were players (one from Saints) and four non-playing staff

Week Two (July 13) - 856 players and club staff were tested. Of these, nine people tested positive. Of those nine, seven were players and two non-playing staff.

Week Three (July 20) – 896 players and club staff were tested. Of these, two players (one from Saints) tested positive.

Week Four (July 27) - 846 players and club staff were tested. Of these, five people tested positive. Of those five, four were players (one from Saints) and one was a non-playing member of staff.

Week Five (August 3) - 917 players and club staff were tested. Of these, two people tested positive. Of those two, one is a player (from Saints) and one is a non-playing member of staff.

Week Six (test one) (August 10) – 989 players and club staff were tested. Of those four people tested positive. Of those three, one is a player (from Saints) and three are non-playing members of staff.

Week Six (test two) (August 12) - 956 players and club staff were tested. Of those seven people tested positive. Of those seven, five are players (one from Saints) and two are members of staff.

Week Seven (August 19) - 1,043 players and club staff were tested. Of those one player tested positive.

Week Eight 1 (August 24) - 1,042 players and club staff were tested. Of those one player tested positive.

Week Eight 2 (August 27) - 1,025 players and club staff were tested. There were no positive tests.

Week Nine (September 2) - 1,077 players and club staff were tested. Of those one player tested positive.
