Saints have gone back to the future with the design of their new home shirt, which was released on Tuesday.

The fresh look sees a return to equal black, green and gold hoops and green sleeves.

The evenly-sized hoops bear a striking resemblance to the Northampton shirts of the early 20th century, which were worn by men such as Edgar Mobbs.

As in previous seasons, the new home shirt will be available in authentic and poly-cotton versions.

The authentic replica shirt will be made of the same breathable fabric that is worn by the Saints players.

The poly-cotton shirt will have the same design, but is made from a traditional material, with full collar and short and long-sleeved versions, and a special ladies’ cut, too.

Pre-orders for the new authentic replica shirt are being taken now in the Saints online store, with prices held for another season: £64.99 for adult sizes and £44.99 for juniors.

Prices have also been held for the poly-cotton shirt - £54.99 for adults and £39.99 for juniors.

Saints will also release a new cup kit at a later date, but are sticking with last season’s away shirt, which was worn in the Aviva Premiership final victory against Saracens.
