He may have been part of a Six Nations-winning side and a successful Lions tour – but George North has yet to win a major club trophy.
And the Wales wing is eager to put that right by propelling Saints to Aviva Premiership and Amlin Challenge Cup glory.
Jim Mallinder’s men sit second in the league standings going into the final four games of the regular season and have a European semi-final, against Harlequins on Friday, April 25, to look forward to.
And North said: “It’s exciting really. We’ve got two games at home, two away in the league, and we want to get a home semi as well as focusing on the Amlin.
“I haven’t had any experience of getting to the latter stages with the club so I’m really enjoying what is to come and the challenges that are ahead.
“As a squad, we’re looking pretty good right now. We’re in one piece, we’ve got a lot of strength in depth, we’ve got a lot of freshness from the young boys coming through now, pushing us on.
“It’s a good place to be and I’m excited for the final weeks. It’s going to be a big push now to finish.”
Next up for Saints is a Premiership game at table-toppers Saracens.
And North, who has yet to face the Barnet club in Northampton colours, said: “They’re the team who are on form again this season and we’ve got to make sure our own house is in order to go down there.”
