Courtney Lawes believes Saints are ‘the complete package’ this season.
And he has urged them to keep stacking up the wins as they go in search of Premiership glory.
Lawes started a game for the first time since February 18 as Saints saw off Worcester at Franklin’s Gardens last weekend.
They played some scintillating rugby during that game as they surged into a 37-3 lead before tiring to edge home at 37-31.
Lawes scored a try to secure the bonus point which takes his side’s total to 18 in the league this season, putting them second in the standings.
The England forward is revelling in the successful start to the campaign and he feels Saints have far more options - especially in the pack - than in recent years.
“It’s brilliant, the way we’re playing,” said the 23-year-old. “Our attack is phenomenal and hopefully we’ll be able to keep it up throughout the season this year.
“Our scrum’s back up to where it was and it’s looking like it’s going to be a good season. I’m back now and I’m very happy about that.
“We’re much more diverse, we’ve got way more calls and we’re not as easy to read this year. At the same time we can still go back to that base if we’re in trouble so we are the complete package this year and it shows so far.”
While the Saints first team are four from four in the Premiership, the Wanderers have won all three of their games in the ‘A’ League this season.
And Lawes admits he is eager to keep the club’s winning run going when Wasps come to town tonight.
“The first and second team are doing really well this season and it’s good to keep that momentum going, keep the streak and keep the wins piling up. Hopefully we’ll be able to do that this weekend.
“I do enjoy night games and hopefully we’ll be able to have some fun.”
