And there is plenty of good news, with the likes of Teimana Harrison and Mike Haywood now available for selection.

Here's what Boyd said about each player on last week's injury list (Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi is not included as he continues to recover from a long-term Achilles problem)...

Teimana Harrison (ankle) - "He's available for selection."

Mike Haywood (knee)- "He's available for selection."

Alex Coles (shoulder) - "Probably not available."

Lewis Ludlam (shin) - "I've given him a week off."

Reece Marshall (concussion) - "Probably available."

Alex Moon (ankle) - "Probably available."

Ollie Sleightholme (ankle) - "He's a bit away."

Piers Francis (concussion) - "He's fine and he's available."

The return or near-return of so many influential players will be a boost for Saints ahead of key matches in the Gallagher Premiership in the weeks to come.

Boyd said: "We're certainly not complete. Last week we had 11 players we couldn't have selected - you would have said five, six or seven of those would have been in the 23 so that's a good chunk but we're getting healthier all the time.

"In that space, we're okay and that's really important in a congested and tight season."
