The Kiwi boss saw his side score four tries, with Shaun Adendorff diving over twice and Taqele Naiyayaravoro and Rory Hutchinson also registering.

Saints looked slick, particularly during the second half as they bounced back from going 19-11 down.

And they made sure it was back-to-back wins, five weeks after their previous success, against Worcester Warriors.

Saints had been out of action as Covid-19 impacted their schedule, but they looked sharp at Kingsholm.

And Boyd said: "Any win in the Premiership at the moment is a good win.

"We hadn't played for five weeks so we were a little bit rusty but you can look at things all sorts of ways. We haven't lost in the last two months now, except for Covid.

"The cunning plan for Gloucester to turn the wind up at half-time actually kicked us into gear.

"It was quite a lot windier after half-time and we weren't able to kick our way out of the back end of our field so we had to make the decision to play our way out, and I think that might be a little message for us."

Saints are now up to sixth in the Premiership standings ahead of next Saturday's trip to Wasps.

And Boyd added: "You can shift in the competition really quickly because it's so tight.

"We've got Wasps away next week, which is going to be really tough, and we've actually got a tough block of four weeks so we needed to make sure we got some points.

"We've always had confidence in our ability and we know we have some ability. We've just got to make sure we put it on the field."
