Pisi warns rivals that Saints are going to get even better

And that is an ominous warning for the rest of the Aviva Premiership after Jim Mallinder’s men systematically dismantled table-toppers Saracens on Saturday.

Saints ran in six tries as they thrashed Mark MacCall’s men 41-20 at Franklin’s Gardens.

But Samoan wing Pisi, who was one of the men on the scoresheet, believes his side are still laying the foundations for a deafening crescendo.

“We’re just taking game by game and as it goes we’re slowly building our confidence,” he said.

“Hopefully by the end of this year we’ll be where we want to be.”

Pisi symbolised the strength in the Saints squad as he stepped in for Wales wing George North and put in a sizzling performance.

The 24-year-old made four initial breaks against Saracens, the most in a single Premiership game this season, and played a key role in teeing up Luther Burrell for a try before scoring himself.

And Pisi said: “I’m enjoying it. I’m getting more game time now and I just want to keep giving it my all.

“We’ve got a strong squad this year and everyone’s fighting for the positions so when we get the opportunity we know we’ve just got to take it.

“The (international) boys have gone, but it just shows how strong our squad is.”
