Max Verstappen claimed his second win of the season to round out the 2020 campaign in style in Abu Dhabi.

The Dutchman led every lap from pole position to assert his dominance over the rest in the season finale, but has to settle for third place in the final standings behind Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, who finished third and second respectively in the Mercedes.

Verstappen said: "It was really enjoyable out there. Once you're out front, you can control the pace and it makes things easier.

"I saw Mercedes were dropping off behind me so I could take it easy!"

Bottas said: "Red Bull were surprisingly quick today, and built that gap. We couldn't keep up with them.

"I feel it was a solid race from my side, in that sense it was a good race."

Hamilton added: "You can't win them all! Considering the last couple of weeks, I'm generally happy. Congratulations to Max!

"It was a really hard race for me physically, so I'm glad it's over! I've never been so tired after a race, but I didn't think I'd be here last week. I'm grateful for my health though. I'm looking forward to a break now.

"Thanks to the team, it's a fantastic performance to get two podiums here today."

Alex Albon was fourth for Red Bull, closing in on Hamilton late on, ahead of Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz as they wrapped up third in the constructor's championship for McLaren.

Daniel Ricciardo was seventh in his final race for Renault, ahead of Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll.
