Chasing 168 to win in 40 overs, Horton were coasting to victory at 154 for four with plenty of overs to play with, but then imploded.

They managed to lose six wickets for just 12 runs to be bowled out for 166, with Mark Wolstenholme running out of partners as he was left stranded on seven not out and with five overs remaining.

The wickets were shared around, with Tom Cooke claiming a couple, while there were also scalps for James Sales and Matthew Cannon and a couple of run-outs to secure a remarkable win for Park.

Cooke ended with two for five, Sales two for 24 and Cannon two for 57.

For Horton, Karan Parmar top scored with 48 while there was 42 for Ewan Cox and 30 for fellow opener Jay Parmar.

Overstone had earlier struggled with the bat themselves, with Charles Edwards' 43 and Vikesh Patel's 28 the only scores of note in their 167 all out.

The wickets were shared out, with Wolstenholme taking two for 33, Henry Warren two for 20, Karan Parmar two for 26 and G Miller two for 22.

The win lifted Overstone up to eighth in the table, and into the final play-off qualifying spot.

They leapfrogged Brixworth, who suffered a two-wicket defeat in a low-scoring clash with Oundle Town.

Brixworth must have feared the worst as they slumped from 48 for two to 90 all out, with Craig Harrison leading the way with the ball by taking three for 15.

Oundle would surely ease home chasing such a low total? But no, they too struggled and were in danger of losing as they slumped to 76 for seven and then 81 for eight, but ninth-wicket pair Primesh Patel (5no) and Josh Hull (6no) holding their nerve to see their team home.

For Brixworth, Luke Evans snared three for 32 and George Napier took two for 13.

A brilliant all-round performance from Daniel Waite set up a 76-run for Old Northamptonians against Rushden & Higham.

Rob White, back in the fold after missing previous match due to his first-class umpiring duties at the County Ground, crashed 94 from 87 balls and Waite made 59 from 32 deliveries as ONs posted 223 for nine in their 40 overs.

That was too many for Rushden, who hit back with 147 all out, their batters having no answer to the bowling of Waite who raced in to take five for 17 from eight overs.

He was supported by Niall Malin (2-30) and Richard Kaufman (2-34), while Rushden pair Callum Nicholson (31) and Tom Firm (34) gave the scoreline some sort of respectability after they had slumped to 89 for seven.

Peterborough returned to the top of the table after they thrashed Finedon Dolben by eight wickets.

Finedon were rushed out for just 70 as Mark Edwards (4-24) and Danny Mohammed (3-12) ran riot, and Posh then sauntered to 71 for two in 20 overs, with David Clarke unbeaten on 38.

Morning leaders Geddington were beaten by seven runs by Desborough in another low scoring encounter.

Desborough totalled 146 for eight, and Geddington looked well set at 85 for two in reply.

But then Jake Bindley got to work, taking five for 27 from seven overs as Geddington lost eight wickets for 54 runs to be bowled out for 139.
