NCL PLAY-OFFS: Ton-up White inspires ONs as they set up final date with Peterborough

Rob White produced a superb all-round performance to lead Old Northamptonians to the Northants Cricket League Premier Division play-off final with an excellent win over Oundle.

The former Northants man first hit a stunning 127 from just 103 balls as the ONs posted 246 for six in their 40 overs.

Support came from Amrit Basra, who hit 48, and Richard Kaufman with 25.

The home side started their reply superbly and eased to 95 without loss, and they were still very well placed at 175 for three, with plenty of wickets and overs to spare.

Opener Peter Foster led the charge with 77 from 55 balls, but he became of a trio of White victims with the ball, as Oundle self-imploded.

White ended with three for 49, while Basra (3-35) and Kaufman (2-53) as Oundle lost their last five wickets for just 27 to slump to 224 all out to go down by 22 runs - and they still had 5.4 overs in the tank.

ONs will take on Peterborough in the final, with the Cambridgeshire side hammering Finedon Dolben by seven wickets.

Finedon batted first and found themselves in dire straits at 37 for seven, before 37 from Nathan Piper at least lifted them to 95 all out.

That was never going to be enough to trouble Posh, who coasted to 96 for three in 24.2 overs, David Clarke making an unbeaten 24.

In the other divisions, the division one cup final will be between Loddington & Mawsley and Stony Stratford, while the division two showpiece will feature Isham & WI and Weldon.

Northampton Saints beat Brixworth IIs in the division three semi-final.

Brixworth made 142 for eight in their 40 overs, with Adam Shulver and Robert Dow making 30, and Keiran Lewin, Mohammad Yaqub and Elliott Patterson all taking two wickets for Saints.

Ewan Hughes-Rowlands then hit an unbeaten 49 to steer Saints to 143 for three in 37.1 overs, with Oliver Hanwell also unbeaten on 29. In the final, Saints will play Wollaston who beat Oundle by 60 runs.

Bold Dragoon will play S&L Corby in the division four final, after they sealed a five-wicket semi-final success over Spencer Bruerne.

Joe Collins hit 49 as Spencer were bowled out for 132, with Jimmy O'Dell the pick of the Bold bowlers with four for 22.

Bold then eased to 133 for fove with Tom Drake hitting 51 and Martin Wall 36.

The division five semi-finals saw Cogenhoe (185-3, Ryan Knight 56no, Henry Swallow 46, Ben Garratt 41no) beat Rushton (183-6) by seven wickets, and Bugbrooke (116-5, Jonathan Goodson 43no) see off Bedford (113 all out, Andrew Gnanseelan 4-7) by five wickets.

The division six final will be between Stony Stratford IIs and S&L Corby IIs, while in division seven the final will be contested by Desborough IIs and Dunchurch & Bilton.

The division eight semi-finals saw Haddon IIs (157-7, Jon Clough 55) squeeze past Abington Phoenix (155 all out, Jins Cherian 44, Jonathan Gibson 3-21) by three wickets, while Great Houghton IIs (241-7, Archie Buglass 74, Ryan West 58, Colin Wayman 50)) hammered Raunds Town IIs (89 all out, West 7-44) by 152 runs.

In division nine, Brixworth IIIs will take on Finedon Dolben IVs in the final, in division 10 Bugbrooke IIs will play Rushden & Higham IIIs and in division 11 Willoughby IIs will tackle Braunston Paddox IIs.
