Christian Day says the Saints players are determined not to be made a fool of by high-flying Bath on Saturday.

Mike Ford’s men have dished out a few drubbings at The Rec this season, with the most striking a 45-0 hammering of Leicester in September.

Saints travel to the west country hoping to increase their lead at the top of the table.

But Day knows Bath, who currently sit second, five points adrift of Jim Mallinder’s men, will pose plenty of problems on their own turf.

“You’ve got to give Bath as few opportunities as possible,” said the experienced lock. “They do have a number of players who can break a game and score a lot of points.

“Regardless of who’s away with England, they’ve still got a lot of players who can do that.

“They’ve made a fool of one or two teams at The Rec this season and we’re adamant that isn’t going to be us.”
