And he hopes Saturday night’s Champions Cup game against the Scarlets can be the springboard to a good run of form.

And former Scarlets wing North, who made his first Saints appearance since March 27 in the 12-6 defeat to Saracens last Saturday, said: “For us the start of the season in the Premiership has not been the best.

“Now we’ve got a great chance to find our form again, play some open, quick rugby with some tempo and get some momentum for the competitions we’re in.

“We haven’t got the consistency we want yet, but it’s a really long season.

“I’m sure we’ll be there at the end.”
