Myler knows new boy Glenn will be eager to grab Saints No.10 shirt

But the England fly-half, who signed a new contract at Franklin’s Gardens during the previous campaign, isn’t worried about the competition.

Myler won his first international cap during the summer, coming off the bench in the second Test of a 2-0 series win in Argentina.

It was just reward for a good season, which saw the former rugby league player help Saints to the Premiership final.

He also moved up to second in Northampton’s all-time points scorers list - behind Paul Grayson - and saw off competition from Ryan Lamb to remain first choice at 10.

Now Myler faces a new challenge, from Kiwi utility back Dickson, who has arrived at Franklin’s Gardens from Otago this summer.

And he said: “Glenn’s come in and I’m sure he’s keen to put his stamp down as well.

“But my focus is on being the best I can as an individual and helping the team play well. That’s all I’m focusing on and I’m not thinking about outside things.”
