Wellingborough golfer Meghan MacLaren is set to play in the European ladies’ amateur championship in Finland next month.

The 19-year-old is the new Irish stroke play champion and has won three times in her freshman year at Florida International University in the USA, including her conference championship.

Now she is one of a squad of six selected by England Golf to compete in the competition at Aura Golf in Turku between July 24 and 27.

The other members of the England squad are Sarah-Jane Boyd (Truro), Hayley Davis (Ferndown), Georgia Hall (Remedy Oak), Bronte Law (Bramhall) and Alex Peters (Notts Ladies’).
