Rushden & Higham reached their third final in four years with a hard-fought victory.

Callum Watts gave them the lead in the first minute.

But from then on it was Corby – with Tyla Brown deputising in goal after their usual keeper missed the game – who did much of the pressing and they were unlucky not to equalise when they hit the post.

In the second half, Rushden stepped up a gear and doubled their lead through Arthur Willis.

Corby were unlucky again when another strike came back off the woodwork before Rushden took control to see out the final 15 minutes.

With a small squad and several injuries, Corby were still proud of their efforts in defeat.
