Daniel Keatings’ excellent Commonwealth Games finished in disappointing style as he came sixth in the high bar.
The Corby gymnast, who had already collected a gold and two silvers during the tournament, had hopes of adding to that tally in the last event.
However, having seen the first two competitors, Australian Sean O’Hara and Canada’s Anderson Loran, fall during their routine, Keatings did exactly the same.
The error ruled out any realistic chance of taking a top-three spot and he eventually ended up in sixth.
The winner was England’s Nile Wilson with his team-mate Kristian Thomas second and Kevin Lytwyn of Canada in third.
