The Kettering snooker star returned home earlier this week after a magnificent winning streak was finally ended by the legendary Ronnie O’Sullivan in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters.Wilson had won 19 matches in a row before that, a run that had seen him claim back-to-back titles as he followed up his success in the Paul Hunter Classic – his second ranking crown – by beating Ding Junhui in the final of the Six Red World Championship in Thailand.The 26-year-old's incredible form has made him one of the best players in the world at this moment in time, while his exploits in the last three competitions have earned him over £160,000 in prize money.And he said: “There’s lots to look forward to.“I have got my place at the Champion of Champions in November, which was a big target for me and we have the UK Championship at the end of that month as well. I just want to keep it going.“I think it’s hard for anyone to say you’re the best player in the world, that’s for others to say.“I would say I am up there at the moment and the formbook speaks for itself.“But you can never get carried away by it all. There are so many good players on the Tour now, it’s just getting more and more difficult.“Winning any title on the Tour nowadays is tough because the standard is so high, so to win back-to-back titles, I am really pleased to have done it.“Once I got on that winning run, I wanted to try to get to 20 matches in a row but I think I lost after 19.“But if you are going to lose, it might as well be against one of the best players ever.“I am really proud of what I have done over the last month but it’s time to forget about that and move on.”
