Kettering’s Charley Hull makes her first home appearance as a professional golfer when she tees off in the ISPS Handa Ladies European Masters at Buckinghamshire GC tomorrow.

The 17-year-old will be hoping for a good display to help boost her chances of being selected to play in the Solheim Cup at Colorado GC from August 13.

Hull, who finished second in all five of her first five LET events as a pro, found her best form in the final round of the Spanish Open last week as she carded a bogey-free 68 to finish 40th.

County amateur Meghan MacLaren, meanwhile, has moved a step closer to playing in the Ricoh Women’s British Open after progressing into final qualifying at Kingsbarns GC, Scotland on Monday, July 29.

The Wellingborough teenager carded an excellent three-under-par round in regional qualifying at the Berkshire to finish tied third out of 160 entrants.
