Kettering Volleyball Club’s ladies team have made a good start to life in the Northants Volleyball Association’s Ladies Indoor League.

They were only established in October last year but were accepted into the league, despite a late application.

They opened up the season by winning the first set against Leicester but went on to lose 3-1.

However, they didn’t have to wait long for their first victory as they claimed a fine 3-0 success over Milton Keynes.

The Northants Volleyball Association leagues consist of seven men’s teams and six ladies sides.

Kettering Volleyball Club are always looking for new players both male and female, as well as junior players.

“We love the game and want to create more opportunities for people to enjoy it,” said head coach Alex Hajigeorgieva.

“We are really looking forward to the summer for our free outdoor sessions and competitions and the Urban Beach competition planned by Kettering Borough Council in July.”

The club would like to thank Kettering and Corby Borough Councils, Kettering School Sport Partnership, Northamptonshire Sport, Volleyball England and Northamptonshire Community Foundation for their continued support.
