Corby’s Daniel Keatings has won a Commonwealth Games gold medal.
The 24-year-old produced a truly world-class performance on the pommel horse to blow the opposition away and finally take top spot on the podium.
He had already claimed silver in the team and individual all-around competitions while finished an agonising fourth in the floor event.
But a simply stunning display on the pommel horse laid down the gauntlet to his rivals as he recorded a score of 16.058.
It meant rivals Louis Smith and Max Whitlock had to lift their performances to run him close, something they were unable to do.
Smith took bronze with 14.966 while Whitlock, the star of the gymnastics so far, came second just behind Keatings.
