Kettering amateur Charley Hull makes her first appearance on the Ladies European Tour today after receiving a sponsor’s invite to play in the Turkish Ladies Open at National Golf Club, Antalya.
Hull, who played with eight-time Solheim Cup player and former captain Helen Alfredsson in the pro-am yesterday, competes in a field of 29 tour event winners, including Laura Davies and Trish Johnson.
The 16-year-old, who made her major debut at the Kraft Nabisco tournament in California in March, tees off with Czech professional Klara Spilkova and Australian Frances Bondad who won the 2011 Sanya Open in China.
She goes into the event in high spirits after rising to a career high of third in the world amateur rankings.
Only Lydia Ko (New Zealand) and Kim Williams (South Africa) are above Hull in the standings.
Northants County member Lauren Taylor remains as the second highest English lady as she sits in 20th spot while Meghan MacLaren (Wellingborough) lies 135th.
