Corby’s Commonwealth Games gold medalist Daniel Keatings picked up two more top honours at the Northamptonshire Sports Awards at Kettering Conference Centre on Thursday.
The talented gymnast, who represented Scotland at the games, was named Sportsman of the Year and then went on to win the overall county Sports Personality of the Year.
The honours follow a summer during which Keatings won a silver medal in the team event, silver in the individual all-round final and then gold in the pommel horse at the Glasgow games.
Sportswoman of the Year at the awards was fellow gymnast Frankie Jones, formerly of Wellingborough.
After a long career in Rhythmic Gymnastics during which Frankie was a long time member of the Nene Valley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, she won a gold and five silver medals at the Commonwealth Games, where she competed for Wales before retiring from elite competition.
Other winners on the night included Northampton Saints coach Jim Mallinder, who picked up the Performance Coach of the Year award for guiding Saints to their first Premiership title and adding the Amlin Challenge Cup along the way.
The Saints also won Performance Team of the Year.
There were also awards for Manor School Sports College and the Stewarts and Lloyds Rugby Football Club.
