And Saints should also have Stephen Myler in their squad, with the fly-half making good progress from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the Sandy Park clash.

But Sam Dickinson is yet to return to full fitness after suffering an injury in the LV= Cup semi-final against Saracens and Alex Corbisiero (knee) is also still out.

“Calum is fine,” said Saints boss Jim Mallinder. “He just got a bit of a blow to his leg so he hobbled off.

“He could have probably carried on and he’s fine. He’ll be available for this weekend.

“We’re hopeful with Stephen Myler, who is making good progress, but Sam Dickinson is probably going to be another week.

“As for Alex, he’s very positive and we’re looking forward to him coming back at some stage this season.”
