King wary of Saracens threat as Saints head to Allianz Park

Sarries drew 21-21 with Leicester last weekend, seeing a last-gasp Owen Williams penalty deprive them of the four points.

That means they are two points adrift of table-toppers Saints, who suffered a home defeat at the hands of Exeter Chiefs last weekend.

And King is anticipating a ferocious battle between two of the Aviva Premiership title contenders.

“They’ve got some quality players and a really good squad,” said the Saints attack coach.

“They will probably feel they should have won at Welford Road last weekend, but a draw was not a bad result.

“We know they’re a tough team and it will be a big test for us going down there.”

The last meeting between the sides came at Twickenham in May, with Saints snatching a dramatic 24-20 extra-time victory to secure their first Premiership crown.

But King denies Sarries will be seeking revenge, feeling both teams have moved on since that memorable day at HQ.

“We’re past that now,” he said. “They will just see it as another game in the 22 that you play during the regular season.

“If you start looking back, it’s not beneficial and we’ve got a huge motivation to go there and get the job done.”
