Northampton started the new season with a bang on Saturday, thrashing Exeter Chiefs 38-11 in the Aviva Premiership opener at Franklin’s Gardens.

Their strength-in-depth was showcased as the likes of Samu Manoa, Kahn Fotuali’i and Calum Clark were only among the replacements.

“You want to have a bit of continuity but depending on injuries and knocks it’s quite a short turnaround so there may be one or two changes,” said King.

“It hasn’t been finalised yet.

“We want to have continuity but we also want to give other guys opportunities to stake their claim, because you need a squad of 30, 35 with internationals, injuries and all the other challenges that you’re presented with during the season.”
