And the Saints prop has paid tribute to the Waller brothers for helping to make his comeback a smooth one.

Corbisiero came off the bench to play the final 25 minutes of the 30-25 victory against Harlequins at Twickenham last weekend.

It was the 26-year-old’s first appearance since injuring shoulder ligaments in the win over Bath in September.

And he said: “There’s no doubt about it, I’m a happy man at the moment. You can see the smile on my face being back out there with the boys and being in the mix.

“The boys have been so welcoming to me in helping me get up to speed, especially Ethan Waller.

“It’s not ideal for him because he’d been playing very well but he was massively helpful in getting the detail and to be back out there is outstanding.”

And on Alex Waller, who has once again stepped up in Corbisiero’s absence, the England star said: “Alex has been outstanding again this year, he’s taken his game up another level.

“He’s always improving, his detail’s improving, he’s ever involved in the loose and his durability and consistency is outstanding.

“It’s guys like that at club rugby who help reinforce successful seasons.

“Saints have been very fortunate to have him and now I’m back I can help share the workload and hopefully help us take our game to another level.”
