Mujati racked up a century of games at Franklin’s Gardens, where cries of ‘Mooj’ were heard on a regular basis.

And now he will get the chance to play against the Saints in the Aviva Premiership after penning a two-year deal at the Sharks.

The switch brings to an end a two-year stay at French giants Racing 92, who the 30-year-old joined after leaving Saints.

“I am delighted to be back in England and am really looking forward to playing in the Premiership again,” said Mujati.

“My wife and children have settled in well in the north west and everyone has been so welcoming at the club - it’s a great place to be.

“The Premiership is a highly competitive league to play in but we have some great players here at Sharks and I am looking forward to pulling on a jersey on Saturday afternoon in the (pre-season) game against Leicester Tigers.”

Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond worked with Mujati during his time at Northampton.

And he is happy to be reunited with the tighthead prop.

Diamond said: “This is the second time I have signed Brian.

“When I worked for Northampton Saints, heading up their recruitment department, I spotted Brian and he was an instant success at Franklin’s Gardens.

“He gives 100 per cent every game and was very popular with the fans.

“I am sure the Sharks fans will be very happy with the signing.”
