That is the rallying call from Tommy Wright to the Corby Town supporters as they prepare for a make or break weekend in the Vanarama National League North.

It’s been a long week for the Steelmen boss.

Wright was left considering his own position following last Saturday’s poor 3-0 defeat at AFC Telford United, which left his team rock-bottom of the table and six points adrift of safety.

But, following talks with chairman Stevie Noble, the Corby manager is staying on to lead the final desperate attempt to pull off a great escape.

Victory tomorrow (Saturday) is a must as the Steelmen take on second-from-bottom Hednesford Town at Steel Park before they head to current leaders Solihull Moors on Easter Monday.

Anything other than a win against the Pitman will leave Corby staring down the barrel almost a year on from their glorious Southern League Premier Division title success.

And while Wright concedes his team haven’t given their home faithful much to shout about this season, he has urged the fans to turn out in force and roar them to a precious three points.

“It’s been a while since I have heard that drum and all the songs that the fans sing,” the Steelmen manager said.

“We need them to turn out in their numbers.

“I know that we have let them down with the majority of our performances at home this season and I understand why they might want to stay away.

“But we need their help. We need every single fan who cares about the club to turn up and get right behind us.

“The fans need to come out in force and make their voices heard.

“And the players need to put in a performance for them.”

Wright, meanwhile, is well aware that only a win will do tomorrow if they are to give themselves a “fighting chance” of survival.

Hednesford were on the brink of a win last weekend but, having led Stockport County 1-0, they conceded two stoppage-time goals to slip to defeat and leave themselves, like Corby, on the brink.

“It is a massive game for both clubs,” Corby boss Wright said.

“I think it’s fair to say that for both us, it is looking bleak and it’s a situation where even a draw won’t be enough.

“If we can win, it will give us a little kickstart that we need and then we have the game at Solihull coming thick and fast after it. But I am not thinking about that one at the moment.

“We just need any kind of win, it doesn’t matter if it is pretty or not. I will gladly take a 1-0 win thanks to an own-goal.

“The three points are an absolute must to give us a fighting chance.”
