Wright says Steelmen are heading into a '˜hostile' environment

The Steelmen sit rock-bottom of the Vanarama National League North and are five points from safety, despite ending their three-game losing streak with a 0-0 draw at Tamworth last weekend.

For a long time, Telford had been struggling as well but an impressive run of form has seen them move three points clear of the relegation zone.

But Wright sees the trip to the New Bucks Head as an opportunity for his team as they desperately seek a victory to reignite their hopes of avoiding the drop.

“It’s a game in which we are going up against an in-form team,” the Corby boss said.

“It’s going to be a packed house, there will be well over 1,000 people there.

“I have played at Telford before and it’s hostile. But this is a game our boys should relish and I think it comes at a perfect time.

“Telford have been in great form and their fans will be expecting them to win.

“Their management team will be looking at it and I am sure they will be thinking that if they can win this one then they will almost be there.

“But we need to go there and spin that all around. If we can go and put in a performance then the Telford fans will soon turn.

“They will look at this game as a big opportunity but that’s exactly how we see it as well.”

The trip to Telford is followed by what Wright believes is an “even bigger” home clash with fellow strugglers Hednesford Town next Saturday.

But he insists every game is as big as the next with the Steelmen fighting for their lives.

“The Hednesford game is probably even bigger in terms of what we have to do,” he added.

“You could say both matches are must-win but when you are in the situation we are, that tag could be put on every game.

“The fact is we have got to find four or five wins from nine games so every single match is as equally as important as the next one.”

The Steelmen will be without midfielder Anton Brown who begins a three-match ban following his red card in the 4-1 home defeat to North Ferriby United.
