There is another busy night of action ahead in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League tonight.

And Desborough Town are set for a stern test as they travel to St Ives in the second round of the Knockout Cup.

St Ives sit in second place in the Premier Division with just one league defeat to their name all season but Steve Walker’s men head there on the back two excellent wins in the space of a week as they followed up their 2-1 victory over Cogenhoe United with a fine 2-0 success against Peterborough Northern Star on Saturday.

The only Premier Division game of the night is at Occupation Road as Stewarts & Lloyds take on Yaxley. Daren Young’s side suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Blackstones at the weekend and are without a league win since October 9.

There are also four games involving local sides in Division One tonight with the pick of the bunch being Whitworth’s home clash with leaders Sileby Rangers.

The Flourmen have been struggling of late and lost 1-0 at home to Bugbrooke on Saturday while Sileby maintained their charge at the top with a 4-1 success at Thrapston.

It was a good weekend for Aidy Mann’s Rushden & Higham as they claimed a 3-2 win at Potton United and the Lankies will be looking to follow that up when they host third-placed Eynesbury Rovers.

Elsewhere, struggling Rothwell Corinthians will be looking to bounce back from a heavy 7-1 home defeat to Northampton Spencer when they entertain Potton.

And Spencer are the opponents for bottom club Burton Park Wanderers, who picked up their first home point of the season on Saturday when drawing 1-1 with Bourne.
