ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division sides Desborough Town and Stewarts & Lloyds will be looking to keep up their recent good form when they turn their attention to the Knockout Cup tonight.

Ar Tarn have been on the winning trail of late with the latest success being a 2-0 win over local rivals Irchester United in the FA Vase at the weekend.

Steve Walker’s men take on Premier Division rivals Long Buckby in a first-round clash at the Waterworks Field this evening.

S&L have enjoyed two wins in a row following Daren Young’s return as manager and they will be looking to progress when they entertain Peterborough Northern Star.

There is also a big local derby in the preliminary round of the competition with Division One next door neighbours AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Whitworth going head-to-head at the Dog & Duck.

Diamonds made progress in the FA Vase on Saturday with a 4-1 success over Fakenham Town while the Flourmen were beaten 2-1 at Swaffham Town.

Diamonds are using tonight’s game to launch a ‘Think Before You Chant’ campaign.

The club have teamed up with national campaigns ‘Just A Ball Game’ and ‘Kick It Out’, which tackle homophobia and racism respectively within football.

Chairman Ralph Burditt said: “Discrimination of any kind has no place in football.

“And I hope that the presence of new advertising boards at the ground and the advertisements in the programme will serve as a gentle reminder to both home and away supporters that it will not be tolerated.”
