Craig Adams takes charge of his first game since being appointed as the permanent manager of Wellingborough Town tonight.

The Doughboys, who saw their ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division clash with Spalding United postponed at the weekend, take on Division One side Thrapston Town in the second round of the League Knockout Cup at the Dog & Duck.

Ian Walker’s Thrapston side will be looking to build on their thrilling 4-3 success at ICA Sports in the NFA Junior Cup on Saturday.

Rothwell Corinthians, who were also successful in the Junior Cup at the weekend in what was Ben Watts’ first win as manager, are also in Knockout Cup action as they head to Premier Division side Peterborough Northern Star.

There is also a virtual full programme of Premier Division matches this evening with the pick being Desborough Town’s home clash with sixth-placed Cogenhoe United. It will be Ar Tarn’s first league game since November 13 when they were beaten 2-1 by Spalding at the Waterworks Field.

Elsewhere, Irchester United face a daunting trip to third-placed St Ives Town. The Romans are without a win in 14 league matches while St Ives have been beaten just once this season.

Stewarts & Lloyds will go level on points with Yaxley if they beat them at Occupation Road. Daren Young’s side will be looking to build on their 1-1 draw at AFC Kempston on Saturday.

Rushden & Higham, meanwhile, are in UCL Knockout Cup action tomorrow (Wednesday) night when they travel to Bugbrooke.
