Tank arrives to boost Diamonds' defensive ranks

Tank’s move across the county from Corby Town to the Dog & Duck was confirmed following Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Spalding United.

The 23-year-old central defender joined the Steelmen following the appointment of Gary Mills at Steel Park.

He was a regular starter to begin with but was unable to force his way back into the Corby side after suffering an injury.

Now Peaks has made his move in a bid to boost the defensive options in his squad with Rory Winters and Jack Ashton still on the sidelines.

“We have brought Jamie in to add some strength defensively,” the Diamonds boss said.

“We have been a bit short on numbers with a few injuries so we are delighted to get him involved.

“I have known about him for a little while, I know his dad quite well and I know he is a good player.

“It didn’t work out for him at Corby and I was keen to speak to him and he knows what we are trying to do here.

“He knows a lot about me and the club and it was a no brainer. I think he will be a good addition for the run-in.”

Tank is set to be part of the Diamonds squad for their big game at fellow Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South play-off contenders Basford United on Saturday.
