Chris Plummer has made a double swoop ahead of Corby Town’s home clash with Droylsden tonight (7.45pm).
The Steelmen have signed right-back Jack Evans and midfielder Alex Brown on a month’s loan from npower League Two leaders Gillingham.
Both will be available to make their debuts at Steel Park this evening with Corby knowing a win will bring them out of the bottom three.
The new signings won’t be available to play in Saturday’s FA Cup third qualifying round clash at Histon because of the terms of their deal but boss Plummer was delighted to get the loan moves done, especially as Ryan Semple is set to be out for at least 10 days after picking up a hamstring injury in last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Gainsborough Trinity.
Plummer said: “I know the Gillingham manager Martin Allen and I had a chat with him and he has helped us out.
“It is a good time to bring a couple of lads in because we are carrying a few knocks and it just helps ease the pressure on them.
“We are looking forward to the game and it is a very big game for us.
“They are in a similar position to us and there is a bunch of teams down there at the moment. We know how important a good result could be for us.
“We will be going into the game looking to win but it is important we take something from the game.”
Central defender Stefan Galinski is set to be fit for tonight’s clash after also picking up a knock at the weekend.
