Several sporting fixtures have already fallen foul of the weather.

Kettering Town have announced their home game with Dorchester Town in the Evo-Stik League South Premier tomorrow will not take place.

The United Counties League have also opened the way for postponements to be made easier by allowing clubs to do their own pitch inspections.

A statement read: "The weather for this weekend is forecasted to be extremely cold with substantial snow. In view of these exceptional circumstances we will give permission for clubs to conduct their own pitch and facilities inspections."

Many of the Northants Combination matches have also been confirmed as off.
