Poppies, Diamonds and Steelmen set for a big Easter Monday

The Poppies will be hoping to be back in action after their home clash with Weymouth on Saturday fell victim to the weather.

And should Marcus Law’s team be on the pitch today, it will be a huge game as they head to second-placed King’s Lynn Town in the Evo-Stik South League Premier.

Kettering have all-but secured a play-off place but are looking to finish in the top three to give themselves a home semi-final in the post-season.

The Linnets are nine points ahead of the Poppies going into today’s clash in Norfolk but have played three games more.

Diamonds are due to be back on home soil this afternoon with Bedford Town the visitors to Hayden Road.

Andy Peaks’ team remain top of the Evo-Stik South League East after Ryan Robbins grabbed a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to give them a 1-1 draw at fellow high-fliers Beaconsfield Town on Saturday.

Diamonds are a point clear of Hayes & Yeading United but, more importantly, they are three ahead of Beaconsfield with the top two going up automatically this season.

Steve Kinniburgh takes charge of Corby Town as the club’s permanent manager for the first time today as they take on local rivals Stamford at Steel Park.

Kinniburgh, who had been in caretaker charge since the end of September, was officially confirmed as the Steelmen’s new boss following a 6-1 defeat at Leek Town on Saturday.

Despite that heavy loss, Corby remain just five points off the play-off places in the Evo-Stik League South.
