The damage was done in the second half after a goalless opening period as Nabil Shariff broke the deadlock on the hour mark.

And Diamonds didn’t look back after that with Jordan Macleod doubling the advantage before Matthew Slinn rounded things off.

The victory saw Diamonds move back up to sixth place in the BetVictor Southern League Premier Central.

And, with a clean sheet thrown in, it all added up to make Peaks a very satisfied manager.

“I was really pleased with the performance from start to finish,” the Diamonds boss said.

“We took our goals well and we defended much better than in recent games so the clean sheet was just as important as the three points.

“We had to be patient and the first goal was always going to be crucial.

“It wasn’t easy because the conditions made it difficult to pass the ball well.

“But, overall, it was a really good performance throughout the whole team.

“We wanted back-to-back wins and six points from two games really changes the complexion of the league table and we can see that for ourselves now.

“We are right back where we want to be, in and around it and now we can have a good week and look forward to another big game next weekend.”

That big game sees Diamonds back on home soil as they take on Stourbridge on Saturday.
