There was an element of disappointment at Hayden Road last weekend as Diamonds were on the brink of inflicting a first defeat of the season on Evo-Stik South League East leaders Moneyfields, only to be denied by a stoppage-time equaliser in the 2-2 draw.

But Diamonds made no mistake in midweek as they thrashed Wellingborough Town 6-1 to set up an NFA Hillier Senior Cup semi-final at either Daventry Town or Kettering Town.

Now Peaks is keen to see his team carry that on into tomorrow's clash at Uxbridge as Diamonds bid to maintain their top-five position.

“It’s always tough on the road, no matter where you go,” the Diamonds boss said.

“We feel we know enough about the league now, there are no easy games.

“The important thing for us is to carry on from what we did in the second half last weekend, when I thought we were very good.

“We took it on into Tuesday so it’s been a good week for us so far. We just need to keep it going into this weekend.”

Diamonds were boosted by the returns of Callum Westwood, Darryl Smith and Sam Brown in midweek while Ben Diamond, who came off the bench to score the second goal on his debut last weekend, will also be available again after he was cup-tied on Tuesday.

Recent signing Ryan Robbins scored a hat-trick while Smith added two and Fernando Bell-Toxtle was also on target in the comfortable success.

And Peaks added: “We managed to make some changes but keep the team strong and we had the likes of Callum Westwood, Darryl Smith and Sam Brown coming back into it.

“And it was good to see Ryan Robbins scoring three goals. We know what he is capable of. He played a part last weekend and he will be good for us going forward.

“All of a sudden, we have a lot of good players available and that’s a nice headache to have.”
