The Poppies’ final home game of the regular Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division campaign has now been rescheduled for next Thursday with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The match had originally been subject to a 9.30am pitch inspection but chairman Ritchie Jeune took to Twitter to confirm it was off.

It means Marcus Law’s team face a crazy final week of the season as they bid to secure a play-off place.

They head to fellow contenders Redditch United on Monday night, although the NFA Hillier Cup final against AFC Rushden & Diamonds, which had been set for Wednesday, has now be rescheduled for May 5.

The clash with Bideford is now next Thursday before the campaign ends with a trip to Dorchester Town on April 23.

Should the Poppies make it into the play-offs, the semi-final match will be played in the midweek immediately following the final game of the season.

For the time being, Kettering will have to sit back and see how their rivals get on tomorrow.

Third-placed Redditch host seventh-placed Chippenham Town while Leamington, who are fourth, travel to Cirencester Town.

Hungerford Town, who hold the final play-off place and are two points clear of the Poppies, have a home game against Frome Town.
