Midfielder Reece Webb, who was signed by former boss Tommy Wright in the summer. has left the Steelmen after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

And Mills wasted little time in filling the void as he completed the signing of Scottish midfielder Steven Leslie from Vanarama National League club Solihull Moors.

Leslie, who is a left-sided midfielder but can also play at full-back, started his career at Shrewsbury Town and went on to make over 100 appearances for the club.

He has also had spells with the likes of Hereford United, Wrexham, AFC Telford United and Worcester City and was part of Solihull’s title-winning squad in the Vanarama National League North last season.

The 29-year-old joins former Solihull team-mate Stefan Moore at Steel Park as Mills continues to make changes in a bid to lift the Steelmen out of trouble in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Leslie will be available for tomorrow’s home clash with Ashton United and Mills said: “I am very pleased to add Steven to the squad, he brings a great deal of quality with him and has a very good footballing pedigree.

“I have said from day one that we needed to add some more experience to this group and he will be another strong character around the changing room.”

The Steelmen, meanwhile, have confirmed James Stupples as the club’s new first-team physiotherapist.

He has previously worked within the academy structure at Leicester City and has spent the past 10 months as the first-team physio at Harborough Town.
