Jason Turner headed home Will Arnold’s cross to open the scoring before the frontman doubled the advantage from the penalty sport.

The visitors pulled one back but Arnold’s fine finish with 19 minutes to go made the game safe.

Wellingborough Town racked up a sixth successive home win as they saw off Kirby Muxloe 2-0 at the Dog & Duck.

Deven Ellwood put them in front in the first half before Albert Akinremi added the second after the break.

Rothwell Corinthians slipped to defeat at leaders Yaxley as two second-half goals proved to be enough to secure a 2-0 win.

Whitworth are struggling at the wrong end of the table and slipped to a fifth successive defeat on Friday night as they went down 4-1 at Newport Pagnell Town.

Jordan Pendered gave the Flourmen the lead from the penalty spot but the promotion-chasing hosts hit back to wrap up a comfortable win.

Raunds Town kept their promotion hopes in Division One alive after they claimed a 4-2 victory at Long Buckby.

The Shopmates were playing their first game for a month and led 3-2 at the break thanks to goals from Dave Townsend, Ty Clark and Mason Thomas.

And Clark’s second of the game rounded things off with five minutes remaining.

There was an incredible game at Hayden Road as Rushden & Higham United drew 4-4 with Blackstones.

The Lankies were looking good when Jory Mann and Dylan Wilson gave them a 2-0 lead.

But they had Jake Reynolds sent off and Blackstones fought back to 2-2 before Wilson regained the lead with his second of the day.

The visitors hit back again and then took a 4-3 lead before Nat Gosnal-Tyler rescued a point late on.

Burton Park Wanderers made it three games without defeat as two second-half goals from Stuart McMichael earned a 2-1 success at Huntingdon Town.

It was a bad day for Irchester United and Stewarts & Lloyds, however.

The Romans were beaten 5-1 at Bourne Town while the rock-bottom Foundrymen went down 7-1 to Melton Town at Occupation Road.

Thrapston Town were unable to raise a team for the weekend, which resulted in their home match against champions-elect Pinchbeck United being postponed.
